Packing List for the Esoteric Quest

  • Rain gear: waterproof or quick-drying pants; a waterproof jacket or poncho
  • A sturdy pair of broken-in hiking boots (or waterproof trekking shoes)
  • Wool socks
  • Thermal underwear
  • Warm coat for cold temperatures (outdoor gear)
  • Wool sweater
  • Scarf and warm hat
  • Gloves
  • Walking stick (if needed or preferred)
  • Day pack (so you can keep another layer of clothing or your rain gear with you at all times)
  • Head net for gnats
  • Sun hat
  • Camera
  • Swimsuit
  • Quick drying towel
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Binoculars
  • Passport and color photocopies of your passport
  • Photocopies of credit cards
  • ATM card with 4-digit PIN number for international use
  • Reading materials
  • Journal and pens
  • Electric converters and adapters, if needed
  • Travel alarm clock
  • Water bottle (the water in Iceland is incredibly clean and drinkable; a reusable bottle will save money and help the environment)
  • Any prescription, in its original container, or over-the-counter medication (stored in your carry-on bag)
